Reflections & Writings

words along the way

Writing is one of the many ways we communicate and connect with each other. Through conversations face to face, texts, email, phone, through art, song, and through a myriad of other ways, we connect; we exchange ideas and thoughts.

Putting my ideas into words is a way I sort out what’s meaningful to me, and perhaps something will connect with you—and who knows—maybe a friendship could start.

C. S. Lewis said it this way:

“…The typical expression of opening Friendship would be something like, ‘What? You too? I thought I was the only one.’”

Here’s the full quote:

“Friendship arises out of mere Companionship when two or more of the companions discover that they have in common some insight or interest or even taste which the others do not share and which, till that moment, each believed to be his own unique treasure (or burden). The typical expression of opening Friendship would be something like, ‘What? You too? I thought I was the only one.’

If something connects with you in my reflections and writings, I would love to hear from you. Email me and put in the subject line, “What? You too? I thought I was the only one?”
